Sometimes the overheating is caused by the laptop exposure to the direct sunlight for some time and this makes it hot. So keep it away from the sun or just shut the blinders. But sometimes it's simply the fan that is broken or damaged and needs to be replaced. You will notice the fact that your laptop's fan just stops spinning or, on the contrary, never stops working. The fan is supposed to be heard from time to time, when the laptop is opened for example or it gets heated because you use it in a complex demading game for example or when you use too many applications at the same time.
